Do you think the current protests against police violence and the broader conversations about reforming the criminal justice system would have happened without the rise of new media tools like video recording on mobile phones and quick posting capabilities on YouTube and Facebook? Why or why not?

What, if any, similarities are there between groups during the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s and with Black Lives Matter? How are they different?
