I think every individual can view a religion in multiple different ways and fashions. For instance if you are talking to a Christian about their religion and or beliefs you would perceive it in their light. In my case not knowing that much about the Christian culture (not yet) my perception of the gospel would be modest. I do not think so far they are a pushy religion by any means and care more about their relationship with god over the title of their religion.

2.     What are some specific moral reasons people may reject the Christian gospel?

People may reject the Christian culture for multiple reasons. For starters in the text it clearly states that everyone is a sinner and being sinful is our natural state of mind (Weider & Guitierrez, p.100). The textbook states that all souls are condemned a birth because of a sinful state. Some people may have some more issues with following a religion that calls them a sinner.

3.     What are some specific emotional reasons people may reject the Christian gospel?

Some emotional reasons people may reject the Christian gospel is the specific path they may have to take for salvation. Christians understand that without Gods intervention, they out to be the recipients of punishment (Weider & Guitierrez, P104). There might be people out there who are not strong enough emotionally from the start to hear that basically if they do not follow the Christian faith in their eyes they will are asking to be punished.

4.     What are some specific intellectual reasons people may reject the Christian gospel?

Intellectually people may reject the gospel due to the fact of how they see sinners as a whole. In the text it clearly states that aside from God’s intervention everyone will remain a sinner for their whole life. 1 John 1:5 states “ God is light and in Him is no darkness at all”, which basically my interpretation of that is without God as your savior you will forever be a sinner, some people may want something a little more soft per say?

  1. What can Christians do to address these objections and better communicate the Christian gospel?

If I was a Christian the first thing I would do would be to educate myself on everything that has to do with the Christians faith. Granted that might be quite the big task but knowing as much as you can will give you the tools to analyze and interpret people who are saying things that aren’t true. I believe in any faith and career field for that matter knowledge is power and from what I just read if you truly believe in your heart that God is your savior then you are already not a sinner and on the right path.
